Danish MMA Fighters

Updated: 2010-05-02
You don't have to be very in to mma, to know about the danish UFC fighter Martin Kampmann, but there are many other very good danish fighters.
Denmark does not have a long history of MMA and martial arts are not as common as in USA, Japan or Brazil, so many of the pros are still fighting their way up on the international scene.
There is also quite a lot of talent on the amateur level, but this is only a list of pro danish MMA fighters. I have only included the ones who still fights actively, has a record of more than 1 pro fight and has made an impression. If you have any additions(yourself maybe?) or comments please email me.
Here it goes:

Martin Kampmann (23 - 4 - 0)
Although he took quite a beating from Paul Daley at UFC 103, and went ranking as 5th welterweight in the world to 9th(according to www.sherdog.com/), he considered a very dangerous striker with a solid ground game. After he won decisively over Jacob Volkmann at UFC 108 he is now back in the top of the division and is going to fight Paulo Thiago at UFC 115.

Kenneth Rosfort (13 - 2 - 0)
A lightweight that with his awesome victory over former TUF cast member Jeff Lawson, brought him right up the European MMA top. He has since fought Franco De Leonardis, who is one of Europes best grapplers, who had so much trouble fighting him that he gave up in between rounds.
Kenneth was supposed to fight one of UK top lightweight at Fightergalla 13, but the fight was cancelled due to a volcanic ash cancelling all planes.

Sonny Nielsen (10 - 3 - 0)
The lightweight from Fightgym is not competing a the moment, he has many exciting victories on the international MMA scene.

Mikkel Guldbæk (8-2-2 )
Mikkel has been fighting for a very long time and is a well know fighter, who gets most of his wins from submissions. After his fight at Fightergalla 9 was cancelled due to back injuries, he came back at fightergalla 13 and quickly submitted his opponent.

Rasmus Bendtsen (8 - 3 - 0)
After loosing his title fight against Abdul Mohammed at 10th Legion Championship, this lightweight from Team Fightpit in Herning is going to fight as the main event in Denmarks newest promotion Fight Night Live in Messecenter herning

Morten Djursaa (7 -2 - 0)
Morten has an ability to make people quit. The welterweight from fightgym.dk won his last fight against Alan Carlos by TKO from lowkicks!
His next fight will be against the German striker Cengiz Dana at Figtergalla 14

David Rosmon (5 - 4 - 0)
David from fightgym.dk is currently the Fightergalla welterweight champion and has had some really tough competition taking fights all over Europe. His last title defence was against the Dutch fight Raymond Jarman where he revenged a loss from 2008 in an impressive 15 minute war.

Nick Osei (5 - 4 - 0)
This long legged middleweight from checkmat MMA, has fought a great deal of good fighters and with his exciting style the is never a boring fight!

Frodi Vitalis Hansen (4 - 3 - 0)
Frodi is fighting out Fightcraft.dk and has won his last fight at Hell cage 5 against Amir Visalimov on a rear naked choke.

Ayub 'Zap' Tashkilot (5 - 2 - 0)
The former wrestler from Submission Fighting Aalborg, Ayub "Zap" Tashkilot has fought both Rasmus Bendtsen and Kenneth Rosfort.
Being a former wrestler zap has both a really good ground game and explosive stand-up game amd won his last fight via a smooth high kick knock-TF-out.

Cole Lauritsen (3 - 2 - 0)
A welterweight on his way back in the fightgame after an impressive victory over Ståle Nyang at the Zone FC.

Ole Laursen (2 - 2 - 0)
Ole is the owner of the Legacy Gym Thailand and a former muay thai world champion.
Although he comes form a thai background, Ole has a really strong ground game.
Ole fights in asian promotions and his most notable opponents is the former UFC top contender Caol Uno and the former UFC fighter Genki Sudo.
Ole is going to fight in Singapore next at the Martial Combat FC, one of Asia's biggest promotions.

Simon Carlsen (3 - 1 - 0)
Simon has now won 3 fights in a row and won his fight at Hell cage 5 against Lubos Vrnata via a aggressive ground and pound.

Nikolai Koubti (3 - 1 - 0)
An awesome grappler from fightcraft.dk who fights in the middleweight devision.

Danny Petterson (3 - 1 - 0)
He is back after a long break, although he got removed from the fightcard at FG 9, he plans on taking more fights and bring home some victories for fightgym.

Joachim Christensen (2 - 1 - 0)
This big guy fighting out of Arte Suave steam rolled his opponent at Fightergalla 9 but lost a decision to the Finn Juha Saarinen after a 3 round war.

Mikkel Parlo(2- 0 - 0)
Mikkel from Fightcraft.dk won his pro debut by knocking out a BJJ European champion and won his next fight by TKO over a much more experienced fighter. The most amazing thing about this is that he is only 19 years old.
Mikkel is Clearly the biggest prospect in Danish MMA and I am looking forward to see what great fights his career will bring.

Nicolas Dalby (2- 0 -0)
Nicolas from Fighcraft is known for his impressive style of striking. He has been training for a lot of years and his pro debut was delayed due to injuries. But now he's finally gotten his debut where he won convincingly and he has fought Jaroslav Poborský, who had over 40 fight on his belt, in a really exciting fight.

Christoffer Hansen (0- 1 - 0)
Although not having the most impressive fight record, Christoffer's first professional was a European title fight at the 10th Legion Championship and will fight again at their Decemation event in febuary against Chris Smith.
